Below is a list of the main village events, but also throughout the year in the public hall there are more events, talks and shows. Also various local organisations also hold fetes, barbecues and fund raisers on the Harbour Head as well as the summer Porthleven Market.
For an up to date information of what is going to happen look at “The Gate” down on the square. At the bottom of Fore Street on the corner of Commercial Road and Shute Lane.

Porthleven  Harbour Market -
Situated on the picturesque right-hand side (over "Breageside" as we locals say and/or "The Little Nation" if you go back a generation) of the Harbour. Opened in August 2009, the market has quickly become popular as a meeting place in good weather and a lively draw to residents and visitors with its cheerful traders and their unusual local crafts and foods

Porthleven Food Festival is an annual, award-winning, free-to-attend, three-day food festival held in the town of Porthleven in Cornwall. Presented in partnership with acclaimed chef Jude Kereama, the festival is set to return for 2023 from April 21-23rd. Our team are busily working behind the scenes to finalise the 2023 festival programme – with exciting new additions coming soon, so watch this space! (oct2022update))

2023 1st Tractor Run - Brian Pascoe Mid Summer Charity Tractor Road Run
Setting off Helston community Bus Park at 5pm and passing through Lowertown, Trevarno, Carleen, Godolphin, Ashton and Porthleven (ETA 6.45pm) around the harbour (up Cliff Road) back to Helston Fairground Car Park for a pasty. (Call Bob 07798 840095 for more info)

    Porthleven Race Across The Bay - Pilot Gig Race - Marazion to Porthleven
The race starts at Marazion Beach at 7pm and finishes approximately one hour later in Porthleven
    TBC Saturday 4th July until Sunday 5th September. 10am to 6pm
RNLI Lifeguard daily service
on the beach here at Porthleven. The lifeguards are based in their hut at Blue Buoy Steps. For tide times, sea conditions and beach advice.

An Exhibition of Old Porthleven -at the Methodist Church, Fore Street:  Free entry and coffee/teas available. come and get a feel of village life here in Porthleven with the annual August display in the church. Each year a different theme.

Coffee Morning in aid of the Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary, near Mabe, Penryn. 10am to Noon

Porthleven Cricket Club Fete - The cricket ground, Methleigh Bottoms
10am to 4pm at the cricket ground. Raffle, car boot, bouncy castle, stalls, food and drink and classic cars and engines. Great family entertainment for all.
    Porthleven RNLI Lifeboat Day. A free family day out for all around the harbour at Porthleven. Includes a visit and rescue display from the RNLI Penlee Lifeboat and the coastguard SAR helicopter from Newquay. As well as water sports, stalls etc. A major village event attracting many hundreds of people raising funds for the RNLI.

Fish BBQ on the harbour head from 3pm with bar.
    Porthleven Village Show - Public Hall, Porthleven
Doors open 1.30pm and prize giving 4pm. Refreshments. Raffle.
Classes include: fruit & Vegetables, flowers, cookery, handicrafts, art, crafts, photography and children's.
Please support this great local event.
2023 28th Torchlight Procession. Held annually on the August Bank Holiday at dusk. Hundreds of torches parade around the village and h arbour to the sound of Porthleven Town Band. Open to all and torches available at the harbour market.

  Porthleven Carolaire: An annual event with performances from the Porthleven Town Band and The Praze/Hayle Male Voice. Open to all and free hymn sheet to all who attend to join in. Tommy Bray, from Four Lanes, and Angela Thomas, landlady of the Halzephron Inn at Gunwalloe, will compare the evening. Also raffle to raise funds for the band and choir.

The Porthleven Arts Festival is an annual celebration of art in all its forms taking place this year on the 5th-8th October 2023.
