Porthleven Food Festival
About the Festival Porthleven Food Festival is an annual,
award-winning, three-day food festival held in the town of Porthleven
in Cornwall. Presented in partnership with acclaimed chef Jude Kereama,
this free foodie event is a must in the culinary calendar.
Deliberately designed to celebrate Cornwall’s leading food and drink
producers, stimulate the local economy, and raise awareness of key
issues relating to the environment, food culture and sustainable food
production. Thousands flock to Porthleven to tuck into celebrations,
with the heart of the daytime activity held around the harbourside.
The festival offers an exceptional foodie experience, for residents
and visitors alike, offering a full weekend of entertainment including
brilliant chef demos, live music, family-friendly activities, evening
sessions and much more – in a whole town takeover. Cornwall’s leading
event production company Mission Code deliver the festival, which is
overseen by a small committee of enthusiastic and committed volunteers
from the local community. Anyone can join the committee – look out for
the AGM each September to get involved. The objectives of Porthleven
Food Festival are: Promoting, stimulating, and supporting the local
economy. Keeping Porthleven on the foodie map of Cornwall and beyond.
Encouraging community involvement and celebrating diversity. Raising
awareness of nutrition, and of the origins and production of different
food to support everyone’s eating choices. Keeping it fun, relevant,
and safe. Keeping it “Porthleven”!
