Below is a list of the main village events, but also throughout the year in the public hall there are more events, talks and shows. Also various local organisations also hold fetes, barbecues and fund raisers on the Harbour Head as well as the summer Porthleven Market.
For an up to date information of what is going to happen look at “The Gate” down on the square. At the bottom of Fore Street on the corner of Commercial Road and Shute Lane.

Porthleven  Harbour Market - Every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday
10am - 5pm weather permitting.
Situated on the picturesque right-hand side (over "Breageside" as we locals say and/or "The Little Nation" if you go back a generation) of the Harbour. Opened in August 2009, the market has quickly become popular as a meeting place in good weather and a lively draw to residents and visitors with its cheerful traders and their unusual local crafts and foods

Annual St. Peterstide Celebrations. With a procession around the town and harbour, led by Porthleven Town Band.

  4th Porthleven Race Across The Bay - Pilot Gig Race - Marazion to Porthleven
The race starts at Marazion Beach at 7pm and finishes approximately one hour later in Porthleven
    Saturday 5th July until Sunday 6th September. 10am to 6pm (TBC)
RNLI Lifeguard daily service
on the beach here at Porthleven. The lifeguards are based in their hut at Blue Buoy Steps.
  Sun 22nd Porthleven Cricket Club Annual Fete - The cricket ground, Methleigh Bottoms
10am to 4pm at the cricket ground. Raffle, car boot, bouncy castle, stalls, food and drink and classic cars and engines. Great family entertainment for all.

    Porthleven Town Band Playing Every Sunday (weather permitting and not on the 19th Aug.)
From 7.30pm Outside of the Harbour Inn on Commercial Road.

  12th Porthleven Village Show - Public Hall, Porthleven
Doors open 1.30pm and prize giving 4pm. Refreshments. Raffle.
Classes include: fruit & Vegetables, flowers, cookery, handicrafts, art, crafts, photography and children's.
Please support this great local event.
    Flower Festival at Porthleven Methodist Church, Fore Street:  Free entry and coffee/teas available. come and get a feel of village life here in Porthleven with the annual August display in the church. Each year a different theme
  18th Porthleven Pilot Gig regatta Day
Pilot gigs from around the county racing off the harbour
  Sun 19th Porthleven RNLI Lifeboat Day. A free family day out for all around the harbour at Porthleven. Includes a visit and rescue display from the RNLI Penlee Lifeboat and the coastguard SAR helicopter from Newquay. As well as water sports, stalls etc. A major village event attracting many hundreds of people raising funds for the RNLI.
Bank holiday Monday Torchlight Procession. Held annually on the August Bank Holiday at dusk. Hundreds of torches parade around the village and harbour to the sound of Porthleven Town Band. Open to all and torches available at the harbour market.
September
Porthleven Carolaire: An annual event with performances from the Porthleven Town Band and The Praze/Hayle Male Voice. Open to all and free hymn sheet to all who attend to join in. Tommy Bray, from Four Lanes, and Angela Thomas, landlady of the Halzephron Inn at Gunwalloe, will compare the evening. Also raffle to raise funds for the band and choir.
October
Porthleven Lights Committee Annual Harvest Festival. 7.30pm for 8pm at the Atlantic Inn, Peverell Terrace. Auction of fruit and veg. and preserves. All welcome and proceeds toward the Porthleven lights.
Firework Spectacular - Porthleven School -
5pm to 8pm. Giant cinema screen, Circus Performers, Fire Show, Bar, Food, Rides & Entertainment.
£5.00. Tickets available: Top Chippy, Costcutters & Porthleven School.

Harbour Head 10.00am to 4.30pm. local handmade crafts, clothing, jewellery, food and more

    Porthleven Christmas Lights - Switch on of the Christmas lights around the harbour.
6.30pm at the Harbour Head.

    Bickford-Smith Institute Annual Christmas Concert
Hosted by Father Peter Johnson and with Mousehole Male Voice Choir & Porthleven Town Band.
At St. Bartholomew's Church 7.00pm for 7.30 start. £4 Admission. All Welcome
