    Helston "beating of the Bounds" Walk the boundary's of Helston. The ancient ritual of Beating the Bounds is one that has been in existence since the Second Charter of Queen Elizabeth in 1585. In the days before maps it was essential to regularly walk the exact boundary to guard against encroachments.
The Beating of the Boundaries ceremony always falls on the day before Ascension Day except if this clashes with Flora Day on the 8th.

Setting off Helston Community Bus Park at 5pm and passing through Lowertown, Trevarno, Carleen, Godolphin, Ashton and Porthleven (ETA 6.45pm) around the harbour (up Cliff Road) back to Helston via Penrose to the Fairground Car Park for a pasty. (Call Bob 07798 840095 for more info)

Praze Fair Show takes place in the village of Praze-an-Beeble on the second Saturday in July every year. On the day there is plenty to do and see. At the main show ground you will find the horse show, field events, a show tent section, livestock, a fun dog show, a beer tent and refreshments, trade stands, live entertainment and more. There is also a floral dance led by a brass band that takes part through the main streets in the village and finishes with a frantic ending in the village square. There is also a fair where you can find rides and games and is located in the front of the village park. It really is a great day that’s not to be missed.

Includes a visit and rescue display from the RNLI Penlee Lifeboat and the coastguard SAR helicopter from Newquay. As well as water sports, stalls etc. A major village event attracting many hundreds of people raising funds for the RNLI.

2025 Sat 2nd St Agnes Carnival - St Agnes
The St. Agnes Carnival tradition dates back well over a hundred years, to the time when the village streets would have been lined with miners and fishermen, bal-maidens and fishwives.
You will see lots of fancy dress, local bands and people of all ages having a great time! Clever floats, great ingenuity, even dance routines, all led by the famous Giant Bolster!
This year, the procession will begin at 5:00pm on Saturday 2nd August 2024 2024 from the carnival field on Goonvrea Road, St Agnes and travel through Church Town, along Trevaunance Road, finishing at the St Agnes Sports Club, Enys Park, Saint Agnes TR5 0SS for the carnival prize giving, some live music, bar and food.

The Lizard Classic Vehicle Rally is a show every Bank Holiday Sunday in August to commemorate the first GWR bus service from Helston to The Lizard. A static display of cars and motorcycles, with plenty to see.

Held annually on the August Bank Holiday at dusk. Hundreds of torches parade around the village and harbour to the sound of Porthleven's Town Band. Open to all and torches available at the harbour market.

2025 Sat 13th Helston Carnival and Harvest Fair
Helston’s carnival takes place every September as part of the town’s Harvest Fair Celebrations leading up the the horticultural and craft show. It is an important tradition that has been growing in size over the last few years.
10 classes and prizes for each including: Large, medium, small floats, decorated bikes, Buggy, wheelchair, vintage vehicles, decorated vehicle, group walkers, individual walkers.
Starts & Finishes at Tesco. Judging 4.45pm. Leaves 6pm.
Route: The carnival procession will leave Helston Tesco carpark at 6pm and travel down Clodgey Lane, Trengrouse Way, Meneage Street, Coinage Hall Street to the monument, and then back up Coinage Hall Street, Wendron Street, Godolphin Road and finishing at back at Tesco.
Any vintage vehicle that would prefer not to drive up Wendron Street and Godolphin Road may finish at bottom of Coinage Hall Street.
All roads on the route will be closed to traffic from 6pm.

Annual Show held on the Lemon Quay. The annual Primestock Show is a favourite with farmers and families alike. Lemon Quay will be filled with cattle and sheep as the best Cornish beasts are judged. Santa will also be bringing a couple of his well-behaved Elves who will be holding a workshop to make reindeer food to guide Santa's sleigh. After all this excitement, stop by the café to see what delights the festive menu can tempt you with.
